Psychological Disorder
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
A psychological disorder is a pattern of thoughts, feelings, or behaviors that causes significant distress or impairment in daily functioning.
Show
Anxiety that prevents a person from leaving home for work meets the impairment criterion; anxiety before a presentation does not.
Watch for
Unusual is not disordered, and distressing is not sufficient alone. Impairment in functioning is the load-bearing criterion.
