Greek and Latin Roots for One Structure

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Many body structures have two roots, one Greek and one Latin, and both are in current use.

Show

The kidney is ren slash o from Latin and nephr slash o from Greek.

Watch for

The two are not interchangeable term by term. Renal failure and nephrology are standard; the swapped versions are not.
