Medical Terminology / Unit 4   MedTerm 0230 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Trendelenburg Position

Captions available

The idea

Trendelenburg position describes a body lying supine with the whole bed tilted so the head is lower than the feet.

In practice

Reverse Trendelenburg describes the same tilt in the opposite direction, head higher than feet.

Where people slip

Trendelenburg is an eponym and names a position only. It states nothing about why one is used.
