Grant premises that are common knowledge, adequately attested, or defended elsewhere; flag — don't silently grant — the contested ones.

"The audit found a $2M variance" — check the citation, then grant. "Everyone agrees the program failed" — flag.
Watch for
Validity testing assumes the premises; soundness is where the assuming stops (016). Real evaluation always runs both gates.
