Healthcare: Consent and Medication Cards
The idea
The healthcare playbook gives three example cards that become the backbone for order entry, decision support and safety checks.
In practice
Step one: write the card that captures a procedure consent, recording the patient, the procedure, the risks explained, the time, who gave consent and the witness. Step two: add its constraints: the patient must be linked to the encounter, and the language of consent and the method, such as in person or by video, are logged. Step three: write the card that revokes a consent, recording when, by whom and which consent, and alerting downstream systems where that applies. Step four: write the card that places a medication order, with the drug, dose, route, frequency, indication, prescriber and patient, and checks for allergies, interactions and dose limits.
Where people slip
The book adds a requirement for AI pilots in healthcare: every feature must state which things it touches, which fields it reads and writes, and how clinicians will review its output.
