Germany Declares War
Captions available
The idea
On December eleventh, nineteen forty-one, Germany, and Italy with it, declared war on the United States, honouring their alliance with Japan.
In practice
Within a week, the Yawp says, separate conflicts had become one world war.
Where people slip
The order is often reversed. The United States did not declare war on Germany first; Germany declared war on the United States.
