Caution on High-Bias Designs
Captions available
The idea
Practice changes are not made on evidence that may carry substantial bias — such as descriptive designs including case studies — alone.
In practice
A change supported only by a series of case reports, held back pending better evidence.
Where people slip
"Alone" is the load-bearing word. Such evidence belongs in the body of evidence; what it cannot do is carry a change by itself.
