The idea
Evidence-based quality improvement uses evidence synthesis to determine best practice, then uses quality improvement methods to implement that practice and evaluate the implementation.
In practice
A best practice established from the literature, then rolled out and measured with QI tools.
Where people slip
The two halves are both required. QI without the synthesis improves delivery of whatever is already being done.
