The idea
Models come in three kinds: live models who perform a behavior in person, verbal instructional models who describe it, and symbolic models in books, film, games and online.
In practice
A coach demonstrating, a recipe read aloud, a character solving a problem in a video.
Where people slip
Any of the three can teach a behavior, so a model need not be present to be influential.
