Two Kinds of Constructivism
Captions available
The idea
Psychological constructivism, Piaget's, sees each learner constructing knowledge individually; social constructivism, Vygotsky's, sees learning happen through interaction with more expert others.
In practice
One child solves a puzzle alone; another solves it with a parent's hints.
Where people slip
Both are constructivist; they differ on whether the key work happens inside the learner or between people.
