Rootkit and Backdoor

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A rootkit modifies the operating system itself to hide its own existence; a backdoor is a concealed feature or command permitting actions normally denied.

Show

One tampers with the station's own inspectors; the other is a door the blueprints never showed.

Watch for

Both defeat inspection — one by blinding it, one by bypassing it.
