Deductive Reasoning

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Deductive reasoning draws conclusions that must be true whenever the premises are true — no case can make the premises hold and the conclusion fail.

Show

Every machine in an early computing room runs on vacuum tubes; the corner machine therefore does too.

Watch for

A guaranteed conclusion still inherits any error in a premise.
