The Hardware Model
Captions available
The idea
A hardware model is a CPU's instruction set architecture — the defined list of operations the chip executes — built for the machine's convenience, not human authorship.
In practice
A vintage game console, a phone, and a desktop each run a different architecture with its own list.
Where people slip
Convenience for silicon reads as hostility to people.
