Hypothesis

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A hypothesis is a tentative, testable explanation for an observation, proposed before the supporting evidence is in hand.

Show

"Plants near a sunny window grow faster because they get more light" is a hypothesis — testable, since an experiment could support or undercut it.

Watch for

A hypothesis untestable by any conceivable experiment, such as "plants grow because they want to," is not scientific.
