The Three Survivorship Curve Types

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A survivorship curve plots survivors at each age interval: Type I when death concentrates late, Type II when even across ages, Type III when death concentrates early.

Show

Humans show Type I; birds show intermediate Type II; most fish show Type III with heavy early loss.

Watch for

Curve type correlates with parental care, but it measures only survival, not that cause.
