Spermatogenesis Mechanism

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Spermatogenesis produces sperm through mitotic division followed by meiosis, yielding four genetically distinct, motile sperm cells from each starting cell.

Show

Meiotic division halves the chromosome number, producing haploid sperm suited to fuse with an egg.

Watch for

All four meiotic products mature into sperm here, unlike oogenesis, where three are discarded as polar bodies.
