Artificial Intelligence / Unit 10 AI 0604 short lesson, about 20 seconds
The Gap Is Chosen
Captions available
The idea
Opacity and distributed agency are engineering properties with engineering alternatives — so how much responsibility-gap a deployed system carries is, to a first approximation, chosen.
In practice
Behavioral audits exist, auditable pipelines exist, monitoring duties can be assigned — each unchosen alternative is a decision with an owner.
Where people slip
"Black box" often describes a procurement choice, not a law of nature.
