Oxymoron

Captions available

The idea

An oxymoron yokes two contradictory words together, as in bitter-sweet or living death. The glossary has no headword for it, so this is the standard sense. An oxymoron is a paradox compressed to a phrase, which is the distinction a question would test.

In practice

Two contradictory words, yoked.

Where people slip

The glossary omits this term.
