What Sound Does Not Settle

The idea
Metre and rhyme identify a form and can support an effect claim, but they do not establish what a poem means. A candidate who answers a meaning question with a metrical observation has answered a different question. Keep the two kinds of claim apart.
In practice
Form supports; it does not mean.
Where people slip
A metre is not an interpretation.
