Analyzing and Interpreting Literature / Unit 11 AIL 1019 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Why Square
Captions available
The idea
Square suggests the measurable, the unyielding, and the man-made. A character built entirely from right angles has no curves to be surprised by. The adjective does the characterisation before a single trait has been named, which is unit 1001's point in its clearest form.
In practice
Right angles, and no surprises.
Where people slip
No trait has yet been named.
