The Lemon Test

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971) set a three-part establishment test: a secular purpose, no advancing or inhibiting religion, no excessive entanglement.

Show

Watch for

Know this test as history: the Court has since abandoned it, and the next entry says what replaced it.
